See the world of Fifty Shades of Grey anew through the eyes of Christian Grey. In Christian's own words, and through his thoughts, reflections, and dreams, E L James offers a fresh perspective on the love story that has enthralled millions of listeners around the world.

Christian Grey exercises control in all things; his world is neat, disciplined, and utterly empty - until the day that Anastasia Steele falls into his office, in a tangle of shapely limbs and tumbling brown hair. He tries to forget her but instead is swept up in a storm of emotion he cannot comprehend and cannot resist. Unlike any woman he has known before, shy, unworldly Ana seems to see right through him - past the business prodigy and the penthouse lifestyle to Christian's cold, wounded heart.

Will being with Ana dispel the horrors of his childhood that haunt Christian every night? Or will his dark sexual desires, his compulsion to control, and the self-loathing that fills his soul drive this girl away and destroy the fragile hope she offers him?

This audiobook is intended for mature audiences.

Look for E L James' passionate new love story, The Mister, coming April 16, 2019.

"Years ago there was a lot of hype about the FSOG trilogy… it was on the news, women were discussing it quietly in lunchrooms while at work, men were either encouraging or discouraging their significant others to read it. People either loved it or hated it.

I hadn’t picked up a book in years, life had just gotten too busy for me to indulge in someone else’s story. But, I like many others, just had to know what all this talk was about. So I took a chance and ordered all three paperbacks. I fell totally and completely in love with Ana and Christian, I mean head over heels in love! I just couldn’t flip those pages fast enough, I even learned to cook, amongst other household duties, with one hand just so I didn’t have to put my beloved paperback down.

When I heard Christian’s POV was going to be released I was equally excited and scared. Let’s face it, the man is without a doubt, Fifty Shades of Messed Up and as much as I wanted to know what he was thinking I wasn’t sure if I could handle being in his mind.

When I read Ana’s POV I remember being sad that she left at the end of the first book and thanking god I had the second book to dive into so I wouldn’t have to go any length of time before I knew what happened. She was just a girl that fell in love with a boy and it just didn’t work out or at least that’s what I thought at the time and it just made me sad.

But having just finished Christian’s POV I am actually depressed, he just hurts my heart. I am surprised I feel that way because I know how this all plays out….. But nonetheless that’s how I feel. Watching this man fall in love and be willing to give up everything he knows and feels he needs because of his love for Ana is just everything!

I am so glad to have had the chance to go back and revisit Ana and Christian via Christian’s POV. Job, well done, Ms. James. Thank you so much for giving us Christian’s story."

  • Years ago there was a lot of hype about the FSOG trilogy… it was on the news, women were discussing it quietly in lunchrooms while at work, men were either encouraging or discouraging their significant others to read it.

• Some things to know up front
    1. This is a retelling. If you've read the other novels it will seem somewhat repetitive but I mean what did you expect? You knew what this was before you read it.
    2. This is still a kinky, messed up, etc. book. If you didn't like the first novels I don't see why you would like this one. This type of book isn't for everyone. It doesn't mean it's bad, it just boils down to what you personally like.

I actually loved this book. I read the original Fifty Shades of Grey and was apathetic about it. I found Anastasia and Christian to sometimes be annoying and unrelatable. I especially disliked Christian. I couldn't imagine why any woman would want to be with someone like him.

However reading Grey, I absolutely love Christian now. I don't know what it is, but seeing everything through his eyes made me sympathetic toward him. I found him to be more charming and sexy this time around. Ana is also much more likable in this version. She seems mysterious, strong, sexy and lovable. Her annoying features pretty much disappeared for me.

In Fifty Shades of Grey their relationship never made sense to me. Ana always questioned everything and Christian spent most of his time annoyed with Ana and complaining. I couldn't understand why these two people were trying to make the relationship work. However in Grey, you really get to see how much Christian is obsessed with Ana and how much he truly cares about her. He hardly ever gets mad or annoyed with her. Their relationship is much more alluring in Grey and I found myself finally rooting for the two of them.

Overall I liked reading from Christian's perspective so much better then Ana's. So much so that I don't think I could ever go back to the original book. This is so much better to me.

If you loved the other books, I still think you'll love this novel as well! It really will make you fall in love with Christian.

The only thing I will note, the author made some baffling mistakes. Some of the lines from the first book are changed in this one. Maybe it's just an attempt to fix some of the issues people had with the first novel but it's still strange. I have to agree with others that it is a huge editing mistake and comes off as lazy.
  • I loved every minute and I'm not ashamed to say it.

What Grey did for me was take me back to when I first discovered the original trilogy and how it felt as if a whole new world was suddenly at my feet. First we heard from Ana, got her take on things and was left wanting that often hard-to-reach more, to get inside her man's mind. And now we have.

Grey was everything I wanted and more. To get the insight into Christian Grey's thoughts, the way he perceived his budding and surprise feelings for Ana had me sighing often. I watched as his vulnerability was on display as were his fears about losing the one person he didn't even know he wanted.

My curiosity about key scenes from FSOG was satisfied and reading about both Christian's dreams and nightmares put so much of this story into perspective.

I am again left wanting that elusive more and can only hope the author will be writing both Darker and Freed from Grey's POV.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and just like the original, it will top my reread list yet again.

A huge 5 stars and a thank you to EL James for her generosity in giving her fans what they have clamored for!
